Job Description

Central Sheffield based software house providing development and support for numerous clients in numerous business sectors throughout the UK.We are a small team that has been established for over 20 years.A requirement for a new in house developer has opened up working with a collection of Microsoft technologies, primarily Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server.Core competencies should include the following:

  • NET Core MVC or ASP.NET 4 MVC
  • C#
  • JavaScript
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • SQL Serve
  • Experience with the following would also be ideal:
  • Telerik / Kendo MVC controls
  • JQuery
  • TypeScript
  • Bootstrap
  • Xamarin
  • Much of the time will be spent supporting and enhancing existing .Net/SQL Server systems, with some new developments.The candidate should be a graduate in a software related subject.The position is open to both experienced candidates and candidates with little/no working experience.Appropriate training will be provided for relevant technologies (if required) and company/client procedures.The developer must be able to demonstrate good troubleshooting and analytical skills, must have the ability to work individually as well as part of a small development team, and must be able to work under pressure to achieve support resolution targets.Direct communication with clients is required so good communication skills are necessary.The company work in several sensitive sectors where procedures are strict, the company are accredited with several ISO standards and Microsoft accreditation, so the ability to follow procedures is essential.Additional duties may involve scoping, designing and specification work, as well as management of in house systems and infrastructure.Occasional out of hours support may be required.Working hours must cover the clients working hours (ordinarily 9 to 5), but occasional critical work may require adjustments to these hours.Home working will be allowed for a small part of the week, but the candidate would have to provide their own infrastructure.The package includes pension. Salary is dependent upon experience, starting in the region of £20k to £35k. When fully settled and fully productive, the salary should rise to £40k to £45k.
