Job Description

IT Service Desk Engineer - Sheffield SearchDATA is recruiting an IT Service Desk Engineer for a successful Automotive Industry brand based in Sheffield.The role This is a brand new role to provide an effective IT escalation point across all areas of the business in respect of general server and network support. The position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the existing users / devices on a day to day basis as well as supporting with project work.The role will Initially be involved with multi-site (250+) patching (via iVanti), hard drive encryption (Bitlocker) and webfiltering (iBoss) along with the migration from our existing help desk solution to service now.Working arrangements Fully remote - After an initial onboarding and training process (circa 1 week), you will have the option to work 100% remote for a period of circa 6 months, working traditional working hours Monday - Friday with the occasional OOH.Night Shift - The role will then transition onto a consistent night shift pattern. The shift pattern will either be 5PM - 2AM OR 1AM - 10AM, but will remain consistent.Role Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience providing ITIL Tier 2 Support covering traditional Windows Server Infrastructure and Networking
  • Experience with automated patching systems is essential, using tools like iVanti, Solarwinds, SCCM, Comodo, GFI etc
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations
  • Experience creating support documentation
