Job Description

Forde Recruitment are looking to recruit an experienced Salesperson to join our clients fast-paced Oil and Gas team as part of their stockholding business with an established track-record in High Quality Metals.Salary - £45K - £40K DOELocation - Sheffield S9, with travel as required.Contract Type - PermanentRole & Responsibilities:

  • To promote, develop and increase sales with the existing customer base and build new business. Overseas travel to meet with customers and attend trade shows is an important part of the role.
  • Work with agents to grow business, establish objectives and assist in meeting targets.
  • Playing a vital role in a dynamic sales team. Joining a motivated group of salespeople that are target driven and support each other in achieving individual development and team objectives, targets, and aspirations.
Main Duties:
  • Management of customer accounts and increasing sales through organic growth and identifying new development opportunities.
  • Visit accounts they are responsible for, visit potential customers and support team members at external customer meetings.
  • Reviewing customer specifications, calculating costings, and creating quotations and proposals.
  • Working with the Sales manager to develop visit plans, sales targets, and identifying stock replenishment.
  • Working closely with the internal sales team to identify new and existing customers to be included in visit planning.
  • Maintaining and updating the CRM system to enable review of customer, agent and territory activity, trends, and opportunities.
  • Undertake quotation and sales order review procedures and any relevant documentation that may be required.
  • Provide market feedback on pricing, competition activity, and opportunities for business development to the team.
  • Contribute towards weekly and monthly forecasting.
Essential Skills/Experience
  • Experience in working in a metal stockholding, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Optimise the potential of both new and existing customers. This will require a proven history in sales.
  • Enjoys and has enthusiasm to build and create excellent business connections. With a desire to travel overseas and build relationships face-to-face.
Core Competencies and Attributes
  • Can provide excellent internal and external customer service and build relationships.
  • Enjoys being part of a vibrant team, being pro-active and a target driven.
  • Able to negotiate and listen to the customers’ needs.
  • Is commercially aware and has a keen desire to learn and develop.
  • Fluent in a second language is desirable but not essential - the preference is French or German.
