Job Description

Senior Hardware System Architect Location: SheffieldSalary: £50,000- £80,000 per annum DOE***A relocation package will be considered for eligible candidates***Profit share plan.Verus Recruitment Partners are thrilled to be supporting one of the world’s most exciting Global Technology Engineering businesses based in Sheffield (UK). We are supporting the recruitment of a Senior Hardware System Architect as my client continues through an exciting period of growth.The role:You be will responsible for the system architecture of our client’s innovative RF (radio-frequency) and antenna systems into products, including:

  • Lead the system architecture of the innovative wireless products.
  • Define the hardware networking solution, write system specifications, lead software and hardware development.
  • Design systems and solutions, including live deployments with large customers.
  • Define, coordinate, and lead the system architecture alongside other departmental leaders.
  • Lead projects and features from idea to production.
    • About you:
  • Educated to degree or master’s level in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent knowledge and work experience.
  • Extensive experience with communication protocol stack development, including medium access control, data link, networking, and application layers.
  • In-depth knowledge of link layer protocols, internet protocol suite and application layer protocols for IoT/Cloud: DNS, DHCP, UDP/TCP, IPv4/IPv6, 6LoWPAN, CoAP
  • Experience with networking system aspects, storage management, restful API, QoS, Carrier Ethernet, 3GPP, Mobile Backhaul, SIP, MPLS and NMS systems including reporting systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, hands-on entrepreneurial environment
    • Extremely desirable:
  • Mobile backhaul development.
  • Traffic management design, implementation, deployment both software and hardware.
  • IEEE 802.1d transparent bridging, VLAN & VLAN stacking, MEF 9, 14 and 21 compliant Ethernet services, Link aggregation: LAG and LACP (IEEE 802.3ad), Ethernet Ring Protection Switching: ITU-T G.8032 ERPS, Link state propagation.
