Job Description

Exciting Opportunity: SENCO Position at a Sheffield Primary SchoolAre you a passionate and dedicated professional with a strong commitment to inclusive education Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to announce an immediate opening for a full-time Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at a dynamic primary schoolin Sheffield. They embrace a collaborative approach, working closely with parents, teachers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for every child.Position: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the provision for students with special educational needs across the school.
  • Coordinate and lead the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with specific needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop strategies and interventions to support students with additional needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions and support systems, making necessary adjustments to maximise student progress.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective differentiation strategies in their classrooms.
  • Stay up-to-date with current SEN practices, legislation, and research to ensure best practice.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant SEN qualifications.
  • Proven experience working as a SENCO or in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest educational practices.
