Job Description

SEN Teaching AssistantTeaching Personnel are currently working a school in the Sheffield area, who are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with complex needs. The appointed individual will be required to work in the classroom environment, as well as in the school’s specialist Integrated Resource Base. You will be working with the student to support their reintegration back into the school environment, following a period of absence during the school closures. You will work alongside the SENCO, who will provide information and guidance on the role.Daily Rate:

  • £65-80/Day

  • This is a full-time role, running up until the end of the academic year. We encourage you to please apply if you have a minimum of 2 days availability, there is an option for this to become a job share.The Ideal Candidate:
  • It is essential that you have previous experience working with SEN and vulnerable individuals
  • You must have a nurturing approach
  • You will be experienced working with the class teacher and SLT to ensure that all students experience an inclusive education
  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Working 1:1 with a student with SEN, supervising and providing academic, social, and pastoral support during lessons
  • Carefully scaffolding academic support to help reintegrate the student back into the mainstream classroom
  • Utilising de-escalation strategies to manage behaviour and minimise classroom disruption
  • Working within the Integrated Support Base to offer support in other areas where necessary
