Job Description

Full time - 3 shift rotational - mornings, afternoons and nights.Are you looking for a fresh start in the New Year Do you want to work for one of the UK’s leading independent aerospace and industrial forgersIndependent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) have an exciting opportunity to join the Machine Shop Team as a Semi-Skilled Machinist. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start out their career as a Machinist, or for those who are looking to develop theircurrent skillset whilst earning a good wage. If either of these apply to you, then this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for!Joining us as Semi-Skilled Machinist, you will be responsible for safely operating machines in accordance with best practice and in line with customer’s instructions. When possible, you will work on two machines in tandem, inspecting and checking machinedcomponents and ensuring production of quality machined parts.Key Accountabilities:

  • Able to read basic engineering drawings.
  • Work on own initiative.
  • Ability to operate manual Vertical Borers.
  • Ability to operate manual Lathes.
  • Use measuring equipment.
  • To be able to follow instructions and operate manual vertical borers and lathes to produce basic shaped machined parts.
  • Display competence and accuracy in all machining processes including work handling and own personal health and safety
