Job Description

Security OfficerAn exciting position has become available for a Security Officer based in Sheffield.The successful candidate will join a small team providing 24-hour security to the Company premises. They will be responsible for providing an efficient and professional security service to the company, its staff, visitors and contractors.This is a full-time permanent position, operating over a 3-shift system. The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a similar role.The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary based on experience.Role Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional, efficient and approachable service with associated reception duties, maintaining a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Carry out internal and external patrols to ensure a safe and secure environment, recording maintenance issues, potential breeches of security or unusual occurrences.
  • Ensure that those who should not be granted access to the Company site are professionally and politely prevented from gaining access or escorted from site.
  • Ensure that the sites CCTV system is professionally, effectively and sensitively monitored in compliance with agreed standards of activity.
  • Conduct routine security administration and assist the HSE department with general administrative tasks.
  • Maintain all security related equipment and working areas to a high standard of cleanliness and safety and ensure all defects are reported.
  • Undertake first aid training and provide first aid services to employees and visitors as needed.
  • Monitor all site vehicle movements including site specific deliveries.
  • Ensure all waste skip movements especially metals are weighed.
  • Provide support in an emergency or evacuation situation, in a calm and professional manner.
  • Aware of the importance of confidentiality.
  • Advise relevant management if you witness any inappropriate behaviour.
Skills and personal attributes required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain a sense of calm and control in difficult situations.
  • Efficiency and attention to detail is essential.
  • Must be honest and trustworthy.
  • A team player with the ability to be pro-active and self-motivated.
  • Reliable with excellent time keeping.
  • Be of smart appearance.
  • Computer literate.
  • A good level of physical fitness.
  • Valid First Aid and FLT licence would be desirable.
