A pioneering Cell Therapy company who are based in Sheffield are seeking a Scientist to join the R&D team and build their foundations as their initial therapy moves to clinical trials. Their therapy is based on auditory stem cells and their engineeringto develop a therapy for hearing loss.They are now moving to first in human trials with their current focus on the development of manufacturing protocols to then be transferred to their CDMO partner. To complement this initial therapy there is another based on iPSC that is also progressing throughthe discovery stage and other therapies under development. This is due to their commitment to bring life changing therapies to patients and maximise the potential of their technology.Role of Scientist:They are seeking a Scientist who has experience in the complex mammalian cell cultureto join their emerging R&D Team. You will be working closely with their academic partner to develop protocols to be used within manufacturing and transfer these to theirCDMO partner. You will be reporting directly to the CTO with emphasis on using your science in this role and providing direction to their research programmes.The core responsibilities are: Develop and execute experimental programmes for the expansion, culture, and differentiation for PSCs. Develop, validate, and Troubleshoot assays including Flow Cytometry, PCR and Cell Counts, Mentor a more junior member of staff Work closely with academic partner Collate, analyse and report results to CTOKey Required Expertise: PhD in relevant life science area Demonstrable experience in mammalian cell culturecomplex culture or primary cells for example.Knowledge of hPSC, iPSC, or PSCs is an advantage. Experience in the development of assaysFlow Cytometry, PCR and Cell Count. Experience of GMP ready protocols is an advantage.Company Overview:They are a Cell Therapy Company based in Sheffield who have developed revolutionary technology for the treatment of hearing loss using their proprietary technology.
