Job Description

Job Title: School CaretakerLocation: SheffieldHours: Full-time (7.30am-3.30pm) or Split Shifts (7.30am-11.00am and 2.15pm-6.00pm)Start Date: ImmediateResponsibilities:Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join a primary school in Sheffield as a School Caretaker. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the school environment, contributing tothe overall safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors.Key Responsibilities:

  1. Key Holder Responsibilities:
    • Open and close the school premises securely.
    • Respond to alarm call-outs outside regular working hours when necessary.
  2. Repairs and Maintenance:
    • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks around the school premises.
    • Report and liaise with external contractors for more extensive repairs.
  3. Health and Safety Checks:
    • Conduct regular health and safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
  4. Grounds Maintenance:
    • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the school grounds.
    • Manage waste disposal in accordance with environmental guidelines.
  5. Security:
    • Monitor and control access to the premises, ensuring the security of the school buildings.
    • Assist with implementing and maintaining security systems.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a caretaker or facilities management role is desirable.
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks and health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work full-time or split shifts as required.
