The company is looking for a Quality Manager to join the team due to an impending retirement. The current incumbent will be leaving the post in a few monthswhich leaves a good amount of time to handover knowledge and responsibilities.You will be an experienced Quality Manager, ideally with a background in metallurgy. The role aims to minimise the cost of quality and ensure 100% compliance to standards & customer specifications. The role is hands on, with a large amount of time spent onthe shop floor liaising with the production team and regularly checking the product quality. As Quality Manager, you will support Departmental Managers to ensure compliance with both company management standards and legislative requirements. You will set the standards for quality led operational activities, lead quality activities towards world-classperformance and promote continuous improvement practices.If you have the following skills and experience, we want to speak with you:* Quality Management experience is essential* Experience working within a hot metal working environment is desirable* Educated to ONC / HNC or equivalent in metallurgy or engineering is desirable* Qualifications and working experience of management systems including ISO9001* A good understanding of using quality and process management tools and methodology* Experience of report writing and analysis of data statistics* Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills* Experienced in internal auditingThe business is very well established, traditional and part of a wider international group.
