Job Description

I am now working exclusively with a small manufacturing business, located in Sheffield who are looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Technician. This is a Permanent, Days Based Position, and would be ideal for any junior quality engineers or technicianslooking for that next step in their career. My client will offer training, development, and support.Client DetailsLocated in Sheffield my client is the worlds leading manufacturer of lighting products, offering the widest range of ATEX explosion protected lighting and power distribution systems. They currently employ around 55 members of staff with a strong, stablehistory supplying into explosive atmospheres worldwide. My client is committed to continuing to lead on legislative compliance for all products we sell in the UK, the EU and around the world.DescriptionAs the new Quality Assurance Technician, you will be based at the Sheffield manufacturing facility reporting directly into the Quality Assurance Manager who will offer training and support. You will support the QA Manager in ensuring the continued certificationand continual improvement of the Quality Management System for the manufacture of hazardous area lighting and other Ex products.Main Responsibilities

  • Regular shop floor patrols to provide guidance and support to assembly operatives.
  • Inspect components, build processes, completed sub-assemblies and finished goods.
  • Carry out trouble shooting and investigations into non-conforming components and assemblies.
  • Liaise with the Purchasing function and suppliers about non-conforming components.
  • Liaise with the R&D and Operations department about new or revised products or processes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Review, write, and train out work instructions to assembly operatives.
  • Co-ordinate the timely assessment and repairs of products returned from customers.
  • Carry out shelf-life reviews of substances and rechargeable items.
  • Review documentation and records from Suppliers and the Operations department.
ProfileTo apply for this excellent Quality Assurance Technician opportunity you will ideally have some quality or manufacturing engineering experience but this isnt essential.Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering
  • A proven team worker, with the ability to engage with our assembly and despatch teams
  • Computer literate, with ability to write brief reports, update work instructions, and create training documents
  • Presenting, training, supporting operators on new process or delivering toolbox talks
  • Involved with trouble shooting / investigations / root cause analysis
  • Experience in a Quality or manufacturing function
Job OfferDays Based, Permanent Position, £22,000 to £35,000 per year.
