REED Engineering & Manufacturing re working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing companyJob Title: Quality & Technical Engineer (Aerospace & Defense Sectors)RoleWorking as part of the Quality & Technical team reporting to the QHS Manager, this role covers all aspects of the technical review process including the full technical review of all sales orders, all outsourced materials and all materials being treated andtested. You will also provide technical support and guidance for all departments within the business unit, also assisting with document retrieval and correlation of documents for the completion of quality document packs and final certification.The role will primarily focus upon the needs of the companys developments in the Aerospace sector, with daily support to wider department activities and Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sectors.Key Performance Indicators: Maintenance and development of QMS in relation to Aerospace requirements No NCRs relating to sales route issuesKey Roles Review and approval of all incoming raw material test certificates from suppliers Complete technical review of all Aerospace and Defence sales orders and customer documents Responsible for relevant third-party testing in accordance with the customer specifications and aeroengine manufacturers quality requirements Developing the Aerospace business and quality management systems with the QHS Manager and Head of Aerospace through weekly and monthly project related tasksDuties and Responsibilities Pre-purchase technical reviews and / or advice to Commercial team Working closely with the Commercial team to ensure that the technical reviews are checked in priority order. This will mean prioritizing jobs using a commercially sensible approach All required mill certificate amendments found at the technical review stage will be addressed by consulting with the relevant steel mill / Purchasing Department Become a trained delegate for review of mill certification related to specific Aerospace OEMs Customer specification review and system inputs, this will also include managing, maintaining, and controlling of all customer specification documents Managing, maintaining, and updating all purchasing specifications. Circulation of any revised purchase specifications to all appropriate suppliers and internal staff Controlling, maintaining, and managing controlled industry specifications and standards Creation and implementation of manufacturing process specifications, quality plans, control plans and testing requirements Supporting the Quality System management through quality audits, as required by the Quality Manager Review and approval of supplier and customer concessions. This will mean completing either an company internal concession form or a bespoke customer concession form Assisting with NCRS, inc. root cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions, and resolutions Help to develop corrective actions to reduce and/or eliminate non-conformances Drive sector improvements to help grow the business regarding FOD, FAIR, PPAP and Zero Defect aims
