Job Description

Located in Sheffield we are currently working alongside a highly regarded manufacturing firm who due to internal changes are now looking to appoint a Production Planner.Within the position of Production Planner you will be heavily involved in planning all aspects of production processes on site.Broken down more specifically you will find a brief overview of some of the typical day to day duties below.KEY DUTIES:

  • Planning and coordination of both internal and external raw material supply
  • Planning and measuring long and short term capacity, highlighting issues where necessary
  • Hold a key role in stock taking, whereby you will be tasked with following through on the required corrective actions where necessary.
  • Maintain solid communication with sales team with respect to lead times and arrears.
  • Updating / increasing Production area for significant changes
  • Monitoring / highlighting where expediting is required in production
  • Monitoring of possible short falls with respect to stock quantities
  • Coordinating production workflow for one or multiple products.
  • Monitoring and where necessary actioning discrepancies
  • Planning and prioritising operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • The above is just a brief overview of some of the tasks and responsibilities associated with this role.Ideally to be considered for this role you will have the following skills, or experience:
  • Experience from within a high volume manufacturing environment, or similar
  • ERP / MRP knowledge, SAP would be highly beneficial
  • Planning experience, knowledge
  • Solid communication skills, coupled with attention to detail
  • Comfortable making considered and measured business decision
