Job Description

I am now exclusively recruiting for a Leading, Global Engineering and Manufacturing business located in Sheffield, near Meadowhall who are now looking to recruit a Production Engineering Manager. My client has stressed that they would consider a Production Engineer looking to take their next step into management, if they have the suitable skills and knowledge.Client DetailsLocated near Meadowhall, off Junction 34 M1 my client is part of a global company which was Founded in 1917. This client is the worlds leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, providing precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of mobile, industrial and aerospace markets. Due to internal changes my client is now looking to recruit a highly focused, driven Production Engineer Manager to be based at the Sheffield site - This would suit a Production Engineer with CNC Knowledge looking to take their next step into management.DescriptionAs the New Production Engineering Manager, you will report directly into the Plant Manager ensuring the plant deliver operational excellence through the effective management of all engineering personnel. You will Manage the day to day workload of the Production Engineering Team prioritising requests for programming, validation of work preparedness and operational excellence. Ideally you will have a background in CNC engineering, Programming or ABB Robots:Responsibilities:

  • Support current operations and look to establish better ways of working, via optimal route path mapping, reduction of touchpoints and unnecessary rework.
  • Attend daily, weekly, monthly operational meetings and deliver on commitments made in support of site growth.
  • Optimise existing programs to make improvements on machine run and set times, in doing so developing departmental KPIs and on track systems to support on site MPS and work area champion.
  • Ensure the engineering team operate in accordance with the QMS and support the ongoing maturation of production / quality documentation.
  • Professional development of the team in terms of character building and highlighting education gaps.
  • Support area champion to control tooling and other cost categories which negatively impact on site absorption.
  • Maintenance of existing Production Engineering NC programs Initiation of Cost saving exercises for the team and report monthly Key Performance Indicators on progress.
  • Support successful delivery of Item Branch review and ensure policies are upheld thereafter.

  • Degree or HNC Qualified (Required)
  • Manufacturing and Production experience (Required)
  • Experience of producing manufacturing drawings & tooling diagrams (Required)
  • Experience of managing multiple projects in a diverse and demanding environment (Required)
  • Solid and proven engineering background (Required)
  • Understanding of Operational Excellence (Required)
  • CNC Experience (Required)
  • MS office user (Required)
  • Edgecam & 3D CAD package user (Desirable)
    • Job OfferThis position will come with a highly competitive salary depending on background experience. My client would consider a junior option.
