We are looking for people enthusiastic about quality and productivity to join the Manufacturing departmentat our Attercliffe based site. Initially, the primary duty of this job will be to assemble equipment and conduct quality assurance checks.Over your time at Ossila you will be trained how to build a range of Laboratory Equipment, which will involve the assembly of Electronics (through-hole and SMD), cables and wiring harnesses, electronic enclosures, and linear motion systems. Other dutieswill include order preparation and packaging, as well as stock management activities. Full training will be provided, but experience with electronics or mechanical tool usage is desirable.The department is run with lean management techniques in mind, and we sell our specialist equipment directly to our customers. This minimises the requirement to work on the same process for long periods of time as we work on varied mix of products in anyone week, as determined by the "pull" from our customers. The ability to prioritise and be flexible is valued highly, as is the ability to work independently but candidates must be diligent and alert in spotting and highlighting quality concerns.Progression in this job will come from taking on responsibilities in areas such as training, stock management and quality control. Or from working with the product managers on longer term improvement projects.
