Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled Planning Lawyer to to provide cover for approximately 22 hours a week to advise on a range of complex and more straight forward planning matters and supporting more junior planning lawyers for one of our local government clients based in Sheffield.The Planning Lawyer will be expected to participate in virtual Planning Committee meetings that are being webcast and will be available to view live and recorded. Advocacy is unlikely to be required.Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Recognised Legal qualification (Solicitor, Barrister or FILEX).
  • Evidential experience of providing legal advice within a planning department or team
  • Demonstrable experience with legal systems and process knowledge, plus other relevant IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalents and other systems
  • Demonstrable collaboration skills: working with others, both internally and through partners, harnessing different skills, experience and perspectives to achieved shared commitment to service delivery.
