Job Description

Personal Tax Senior/Assistant Manager, Sheffield Barber McLelland is working in partnership with a leading firm of Chartered Accounts and Business Advisors based in South Yorkshire who is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Practitioner for the position of Personal Tax Senior/Assistant Manager.The firm has developed an excellent reputation across the region, supporting a varied portfolio of clients from entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses to large corporate entities, providing a full range of accounting a business advisory services.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the firms Tax Partner, the role of Tax Assistant Manager will support the delivery of a variety of tax advisory and compliance services to clients, duties of which will include:

  • Identify and provide tax planning advice to clients
  • Ensure that the personal tax clients of the firm are provided with the highest level of client service in respect of their personal tax affairs
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of personal tax clients, building strong working relationships with those clients and providing planning advice where appropriate
  • Identify cross-servicing opportunities for personal tax clients
  • Assist the Personal Tax team in developing a range of services offered to clients and introduce specialist tax consultants where appropriate
Skills and QualitiesThe successful candidate is likely to be CTA and/or ACA or ACCA qualified. Although, applications are welcomed from ATT-qualified individuals who can demonstrate experience in tax advisory and planning work. The successful candidate must be able to produceprofessionally presented reports, requiring minimal input from the tax partner or manager, coupled with a high level of technical awareness.
