Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has come up with a leading care provider for a PBS Practitioner. This company are looking for someone with a background of working with Learning Disabilities and challenging behaviour, who can undertake functional assessments and implement intervention strategies using the Positive Behaviour Support principles.They are seeking a new dynamic team to support a number of the organisation’s residential and supported living services in Yorkshire /North West/ Midlands region. You will work closely with the people they support to develop and implement person centred positive behaviour support plans that both meet their needs and help to grow their independence. The post holder will use their expertise to support predominantly in the following areas:

  • Staff training & development
  • Functional Behaviour Assessment
  • Positive Behaviour Support Planning (PBS)
  • PBS implementation (including practice workshops)
  • Incident analysis & debrief
    • Salary: £28,000-30,000 Key requirements:
  • Hold, or be working towards a formal qualification in: Positive Behaviour Support i.e. PBS BTEC (advanced professional Diploma), BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc in Analysis and Intervention in Learning Disability, Applied Behaviour Analysis.
  • Evidence of working with people who have a learning disability and challenging behaviour is essential, and experience with mental health issues, and physical disabilities is desirable.
  • Experience of applied behavioural assessment, analysis and intervention in a care setting on an individual or group basis
  • Demonstrate an understanding of implementing a person centred approach
  • Experience of delivering training to teams
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams, parents and carers
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent written and oral skills including report writing
  • Very good presentation skills
