Job Description

Clipper Logistics is one of the leading retail fulfilment businesses in the UK, with ability and agility at our core, our cutting edge operations allows us to provide world class customer service to customers such as John Lewis, River Island, Marks & Spencer and PrettyLittleThing.comWe really care about our employees and recognise that without capable individuals working together as a unit, we would not be where we are today.What is the purpose of the roleThe payroll co-ordinator will control the daily management of the payroll system and will be required to maintain accurate records in both time and attendance systems, whilst maintaining responsibility for processing monthly payroll in line with tight systemic deadlines. The role will require providing first line guidance and resolution for employee queries relating to payroll, and training deliverance to line managers and HR team members.In this role you are accountable for:

  • Processing the monthly payroll accurately using Time & Attendance systems, ensuring compliance with strict monthly payroll timetables;
  • Processing accurate HR forms for employees and submitting to Central HR and Payroll;
  • Maintaining and transferring records on all employee attendance, absence, and timeliness in line with GDPR guidelines;
  • Maintaining maternity, paternity, and sickness records and issuing SSP1, SPP1 and SMP1 forms where necessary;
  • Forming a collaborative relationship with the Finance Team enabling thorough checking of the monthly payroll reports;
  • Daily reporting of absence figures for timely presentation to the Senior Leadership Team;
  • Supporting with recruitment and onboarding to payroll where necessary;
  • General HR tasks as and when required;
  • Support in collating information for internal and group payroll audits;
  • Liaising with employees to resolve payroll queries relating to wages and other issues;
  • Supporting operational managers and Team Leaders to resolve payroll and general HR issues;
  • Working with the HR team to provide payroll and HR support where necessary;
  • Delivering payroll training to Team Leaders and Shift Managers;
  • Delivering Kronos training to New Starters in management roles.Experience:
  • Payroll experience is essential
  • Competent user of IT systems
  • Familiarity with HR Systems, payroll, and T&A systems.
  • Competent excel user
  • The working hours for this role would be 7:30am to 3:30pm
