Job Description

The services offered through Tes.com play a critical role in helping teachers and school leaders deal with the challenges of providing high quality education to millions of children across the globe.Role overview:The Payroll and HR Assistant reporting to the HR Team Leader will deliver a professional shared service within the HR Department. The role will ensure we provide a world-class experience through an efficient and professional people service. Key role responsibilities:Respond to first and second-line HR and payroll queries to provide an effective HR service aligned to the People strategy.Working closely with and supporting the Reward Manager in all payroll and benefit related activities including:

  • Assisting processing monthly payrolls
  • Processing starters & leavers
  • Handling P11D & P60 and general payroll queries
  • Processing and calculating maternity, paternity pay, sickness & absences
  • Responsible for calculating and inputting salary sacrifices and salary deductions.
  • Inputting any Furlough information to payroll
  • Pensions administration with our benefits provider
  • Working closely with and supporting HR Operations Team Leader in HR related activities including:
  • As part of a team manage the HR Inbox daily and take accountability for resolving queries relating to the full employee lifecycle.
  • Issue contracts of employment for new hires
  • Collect and process all new starter paperwork and manage the on-boarding process.
  • Ensure reference request are completed and logged on file
  • Ensure the HR and company systems are up to date with correct employee data including new starters, leavers and relevant staff changes.
  • Manage the administration in relation to any changes to T&Cs
  • Respond to all resignation letters and administer the exit process for all leavers
  • Manage administration for employee probation periods, ensuring appropriate records and confirming outcome of probation and processing benefits to payroll
  • Create and maintain HR organisation charts and any related employee lists, ensuring they are accurate
  • Set up, administer and maintain personnel files and process all people documentation
  • Produce reports from the HR reporting dashboard as required
  • Manage the administration in relation to any changes to T&Cs
  • Assist the HR team with projects and in support of people strategy
  • Education and experience requirements:
  • Previous Payroll and HR experience and knowledge is essential
  • Systems knowledge including Microsoft applications and ideally an HR information system or other database
  • Good experience of payroll and benefit administration
  • Experience in responding to HR queries and managing employee relations issues
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
