Its why were looking for someone who sees the world in a similar way, to take up an exciting Operationsand Maintenance Assistant role in our dynamic team.The Operations and Maintenance Assistant will work as part of a day shift team, carrying out a variety of tasks focused on the management and handling of waste, at our energy recovery facility and clinical waste transfer station in Sheffield.It doesnt matter if youre looking to overhaul the industry, or just do a good days work.   • Carrying out acceptance checks of waste upon its arrival at and departure from the site, ensuring compliance with the Environmental Permit and directing of waste to the correct disposal routes
  • Completion of weighbridge entries and associated paperwork in a timely, accurate manner ensuring that records are kept up to date
  • Assessment of bin contents and transfer of waste from pallets to bins in order to maintain a suitable and efficient waste throughput
  • Operating the wheeled bucket loader and telescopic handler when the ERF requires assistance to manage the waste reception area, maintaining the highest level of safety and cleanliness in the working areas
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles, moving items around the site, loading/unloading of 5 cubic metre bins onto a hoist system on the Forklift
  • Reporting any deficiencies identified in the ERF or Clinical Waste Transfer station via the appropriate reporting structure
  • Responsible for the safe washdown of the transfer station as required within the ERF permit and consents
What are we looking for
  • Counterbalance FLT licence up to & including 5 tonne is essential
  • Loading shovel and telehandler licence advantageous
  • Full UK clean driving licence
  • Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety
  • Experience gained in waste incineration or the clinical waste industry
