Role: Mid-weight PHP DeveloperSalary: up to £30K DOELocation: SheffieldOur client is a leading award winning creative agency.The role:The role will primarily consist of PHP/MySQL development, with some front end work also required. You will also need to assist in managing development and production environments.• Full web project development from assisting with concept through to production• Back end PHP web development• Working on ad hoc fixes and feature requests where required• Supporting our project manager with specifications, project plans, content migration and related tasks• Site testing, identification and resolution of technical issuesThe successful candidate:• Work history including agency experience is beneficial• Strong back-end PHP all-rounder• Experience working with WordPress, WooCommerce, Craft, Laravel, Magento and/or other Content Management systems is beneficial• Understanding of the website development process• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL and general web standards and practices• Demonstrable working knowledge of WordPress core functions• Working knowledge of Laravel (or a demonstrable desire to learn) (desirable but not required)• Experience with GIT, NPM/Node, Composer, webpack, SCSS, bootstrap, nginx, unix-based servers, AWS• Be a logical thinker and someone who can solve problems in a calm and effective manner• Knowledge of Google Analytics and similar packages• A strong desire to further technical knowledge and continue learning• Excellent interpersonal skills• Brilliant attention to detail• The ability to work under pressure, to strict deadlines in a busy and evolving environment, whilst delivering a highly professional service and attitude• Excellent organisational skills• Outstanding communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)• Wider understanding of the digital marketing landscape (SEO, PPC, UX, CRO)Glu Recruit are an equal opportunities employer.
