Elevation Engineering & Technical are working with a market leading manufacturing business based in Sheffield on a Metallurgist vacancy as they continue to grow their technical engineering department in 2022. This career defining opportunity will allowthe successful candidate to work within an established and experienced technical team and play a pivotal role in the metallurgical processes/product work on site.The Product Metallurgists duties and responsibilities include:- Generation and approval of test plans and quality specifications within the site ERPsystem.- Development of process routes in the site ERP system, including the definition of keyprocess parameters.- Providing technical expertise cross functionally supporting the Metallurgy and Pyrometry Manager with the calculation of departmental KPIs.- Active involvement in the sites APQP initiative for new product introduction includingthe assessment of site capability to satisfy the customer requirements.- Governance of the technical aspect of the sites estimation process in the absence of theProduct Engineer.- Develop continuous improvement projects and processes across the site, taking ownership of cost saving and productivity improvement activities- Complete technical review of incoming purchase orders and specificationsI am keen to speak to metallurgists with the following:- A Metallurgy or Material Science Degree or similar/relevant qualifications and/or experience- Experience working within hot metals would be advantageous- Working knowledge of quality tools (such as APQP, FMEA, 6 Sigma, 8D, 5 Why) would also beadvantageous- A strong, professional and analytical approach to problem solving, presenting information and day to day tasksAre you passionate about driving change in a business where Metallurgy is the key to the business This is a great opportunity for a Metallurgist to join a business as it enters an exciting period.Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing is a specialist recruitment consultancy dealing with senior engineering, technical and operational positions in Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.
