The Mechanical Design Engineer will provide innovative design solutions for assembly and machine tooling to facilitate manufacture of continually evolving products. Work on own initiative providing tool design support to production and maintenance.Client DetailsOur client is a global industrial manufacturer of specialist parts to the automotive industry.DescriptionThis is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a business which uses both manual and automated assembly techniques with industrial manufacturing.You will provide innovative tooling solutions to production requirements using CAD software; Layout drawings using AutoCAD; Develop a clear understanding of the support requirements of the Groups production facility; Generate the required data managementinformation using SAP (e.g. Material, Part numbers & BOMs); Provide fully specified tooling drawings to ensure ease of manufacture & assembly in the Tool room; and provide tool design assistance for other production & production support departments.You will also plan workload in advance although ad-hoc queries may take priority over planned tasks; and the nature of work varies considerably each month depending on deadlines.ProfileThe successful candidate will be educated to Degree level in Mechanical, Automotive or Design Engineering, with 3 year experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.You will have proven design experience with mechanical equipment / tooling and highly proficient in the use of CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk, Creo, etc)A flexible approach to work due to different methods of assembly, along with the ability to work as part of a team.Job OfferThe candidate will receive a competitive salary, annual leave, pension contributions, bonus, etc.
