Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer (Heavy Engineering)£35,000 - £45,000 + Company BenefitsSheffield, South Yorkshire Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer from a heavy equipment/machinery design background looking for a varied and challenging role that offers continuous technical progression, training and developmentDo you want to work with an SME that supplies their machines globally where you will have an opportunity to travel to client sites as well as manage projects from cradle to graveThis company specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of specialist machines for the mining, aggregate, chemical and pharma industries.This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer or Project Design Engineer from a capital equipment, process and/or machinery design background looking for technical progression, training and development.THE ROLE

  • Understanding and implementing Machinery Directive design standards and compliance specifications.
  • Project Management from initial project brief/handover through to delivery and often installation/commissioning.
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and other engineers throughout the project delivery process.
  • Ability to formulate and work to agreed Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, the role will be UK based but flexibility will be given for home working and the role will also require UK and Export travel for client/site visits as required.
  • Support and be directed by the Senior Project Engineer in all aspects of the delivery of a project from sales handover through to installation/commissioning & sign off of the project.
  • Creating and understanding detailed engineering drawings (AutoCAD 2D / SolidWorks 3D CAD)
