Job Description

Opportunity:Brewster Partners have an excellent opportunity for a passionate and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer. You will be responsible for undertaking design and development work for specific projects across the business. This will include planning and deliveryof development projects and new products.Duties will include:

  • Lead both short and medium-term projects independently, working with customers and stakeholders to identify project scope, plan design and testing and contribute to development strategy.
  • Communications with the customer via site visits, design, validation, and installation.
  • Agreeing the performance parameters of the technical solution to ensure it meets the customers requirements
  • Review of progress against requirements during the development/configuration process
  • Line management and ensuring growth and development of development engineering team
  • Provide diligent product and manufacturing support for product feasibility and design assessment requirements
  • Production engineering and support to the Business
  • Continuous improvement design implementation initiatives
  • Special project work based around the completed products
  • Managing technical objectives for product development and NPI
  • Use of FEA/ hand calculation to validate designs and assumptions.
Skills and experience required:
  • 3 years experience in a Mechanical engineering role
  • 3D CAD systems knowledge, preferably SOLIDWORKS
  • Minimum BEng in an engineering discipline
  • Understanding FEA systems (ANSYS)
  • Basic PLC knowledge
  • Ability to produce clear and concise report writing
