Reed Business Support are exceptionally excited to be working with a nationally established manufacturing company in the search for a Materials AdministratorBased between Rotherham and Sheffield, this is an exceptional opportunity for somebody from an administration background to take the next step in their career in the search of a career in procurement/purchasing.Benefits:• Wage: £25,000.• Hours: 35-hour week with flexible start and finish times + 1pm finish on a Friday!• Holidays: 25 days + BH + 2 Company days.• Westfield Health Scheme.• 6% Pension Scheme + 10x DIS pay.• Free parking.• Hybrid Working 2 days a week after probation.Main duties and responsibilitiesAdministration• To support all supply chain activities in order to meet delivery deadlines.• Record information necessary to report on KPI results in relation to costs, delivery and quality performance were necessary.• Contribute towards ongoing cost reductions from within the supply chain including the examination of any opportunities likely to support longer term procurement strategies.• Expedite overdue orders and communicate to relevant stakeholders.• Confirm ordered items are being delivered to plan in advance• Support Aftersales to ensure shortages are processed to support the Aftersales budget• To support the Shipping Department in ensuring documentation is correct and available when required.Communication• To maintain regular communication with suppliers to ensure the on-time supply of materials, goods and equipment, minimising inventories and ensuring contractual obligations.• To facilitate the expediting of emergency requirements that may arise.Knowledge & ExperienceThe jobholder must:• Be innovative and self-motivated, have a basic level of engineering knowledge, a flexible can-do attitude and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team towards meeting timescales and budgetary deadlines.• Be dynamic in their approach when faced with a challenging supply chain.• Be proficient in the use of MRP ordering systems.• Be an intermediate level user of Excel.• Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers, both verbally and in writing.• Be able to demonstrate successes in developing supplier relationships.• Be a good team-player and equally capable working under own initiative.If you are an experienced administrator looking for the next step in your career, apply below.
