This position will also work with the Future Fund Analysts in preparation of the ongoing portfolio monitoring and reporting.As manager, you will be a first point of contact for portfolio companies; engaging with company management to facilitate successful completion events and transactions, both prior to and after conversion to equity. You will review documentation from companies to ensure all in-life events have been met and are in accordance with the Future Fund Convertible Loan Agreement, and well as work with internal teams and legal advisers to scrutinise documentation received from companies. Additionally, you will support the Future Fund team to scrutinise and assess the portfolio as part of the ongoing performance and valuation reviews, being the Future Fund point of reference for information on the Salesforce-based Future Fund portfolio administration system, for a prescribed set of portfolio companies, and escalate issues as appropriate to senior management and the Bank’s Investment Committee.You must have at least 3 years’ experience of working in a fund management, investment banking, corporate finance or commercial lending environment with experience of working directly with portfolio companies and management teams. You will have a significant understanding of business governance and transactional processes, including business structures and ownership, the role of investors, and key governance and operational documents including articles of association, subscription, investment and shareholder agreements, accounts and other contracts. You will have substantial operational knowledge of Microsoft Office software, experience of building and maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders and customers and of developing external networks to mutual advantage, and demonstrable experience of report writing and Management Information (MI) reporting.Ideally, you will have experience of venture capital and a knowledge of equity investment transactions is desirable, including methods for investors to exercise and maintain influence, and to exit from their interest in a business successfully, experience of Equity Valuation methods and modelling, of operating within or advising SMEs in a financial capacity, using Power BI and Salesforce or similar CRM/case management software, and experience with insolvency /administration/liquidation procedures, as well as managing volume/large scale portfolio of investmentsYou will have excellent stakeholder management skills including the ability to manage difficult conversations, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
