Job Description

I am now working in partnership with a leading CNC Engineering business, based in Sheffield who are now looking to recruit a new, Machine Shop Manager. This is an excellent Monday to Friday days based position which will come with future progression opportunities.Client DetailsBased in Sheffield my client my client have an extensive range of equipment on-site, with an emphasis on quality and customer service to the highest standards. They can manufacture tight tolerance parts using numerous metal alloys and have over 60 years of experience programming and producing parts in various industries. They also have an on site testing facility which is accredited to UKAS & ISO17025, which includes hardness and corrosion testing.DescriptionAs the Machine Shop Manager you will report directly into the Operations Director with full ownership of 30 plus CNC Machinists. Your role will include leading the CNC operation and operate various CNC machines within the Production Facility.Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the CNC department to high standards of quality and productivity.
  • Plan and Lead staff training matrixs, looking to up-skill current employees.
  • Management of CNC time sheets and outputs.
  • Leadership of timekeeping, absence and performance.
  • Management of tooling, programs and drawings etc including costs.
  • Come up with improvement projects across the production area.
  • Adherence to company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Team Leader management of shop floor housekeeping standards.
  • ProfileTo apply for the position of Machine Shop Manager you will have the following;
  • Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification.
  • Either NVQ/ONC/HNC/HND
  • Previous supervisory experience in a steel machining precision environment.
  • Tooling development with current and new suppliers.
  • Program writing on several CNC machines from customer drawings in Fanuc programming languages.
  • Job OfferThis is a Monday to Friday days based position, paying between £30,000 to £45,000 depending on your background knowledge.
