This M&E Surveyor/Project Engineer position will see you working with a local design consultancy in a varied and engineering focused post rather than office based.Currently busy with projects in education, healthcare and with a range of commercial works, their order books are full for a lot of 2021 with a number of schemes extending beyond then. The aim of this post is for you as a talented mechanically biased M&E Engineer to come on board carrying out survey work (both pre-design and asset) as well as monitor progress of work on site. You will be working closely with enthusiastic and highly experienced Engineers who can articulate the details that they need to complete designs that will achieve the clients brief. In addition to pre-design work, you will also be key in delivering in overseeing activities on site checking for quality of installation, compliance with the design brief and specifications as well as maintaining an activity log. There is potentially going to be some work attending meetings and representing both the practices and clients best interests, so it is important that you happy to be the friendly face on site.In addition to the above, they have also been undertaking other types of work that could fall under your remit such as asset and condition surveys, dilapidation surveys and project management of refurbishment schemes; it all depends upon your current workload, skill set and where your enthusiasm lies.It is essential that you have a background in either installation or maintenance of building services plant and equipment, while you are highly likely to be mechanically biased unless you can demonstrate excellent HVAC knowledge coupled with your electrical qualifications and experience. You will need to have a driving licence as sites are likely to be within a c. 60 mile radius of Sheffield (and are often more local), while if you have any design expertise or awareness, this will be very useful in the role.Qualifications wise, you will ideally have a HNC although an ONC plus plus experience will be ideal. It is worth noting that this is not an entry level position and that you will need to be knowledgeable of equipment and how to deliver a safe installation.Due to the client/partner company facing element, you will need to have confidence when attending meetings with the ability to speak from knowledge and the ability to relay information between parties effectively. Most of all, this is a great role if you enjoy being out and about, talking to people and working on a range of buildings at different stages in their life-cycle.In addition to the salary, the employer is offering a flexible package with different options around car/allowance, pension and holidays. Office working is optional while it is likely that you will be out and about more often that sat behind a desk.To find out more and discuss your next step, get in touch via any link on this page.Calibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
