Professional Negligence Department Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our department by providing strategic direction, fostering a collaborative environment, and delivering high-quality legal services to our clients.Responsibilities:1. Leadership and Team management:- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of professional negligence lawyers, paralegals, and support staff.- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages professional development and continuous learning.2. Strategic Direction:- Develop and execute the departments strategic plan in alignment with the firms overall objectives.- Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and emerging issues in professional negligence law.- Collaborate with firm leadership to develop strategies for business development and client engagement.- Produce monthly reports to the Board of Directors regarding the progress and development of the team, highlighting trends and forecasting predictions.3. Client Management:- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, addressing their concerns and needs.- Work closely with the team to ensure timely and effective communication with clients regarding case updates and developments.- Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and case strategy discussions.4. Case Oversight:- Oversee the management of complex professional negligence cases from inception to resolution.- Provide guidance on case strategy, legal research, and analysis to ensure favourable outcomes for clients.- Review legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence prepared by the team.5. Risk Management:- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with professional negligence cases and department operations.- Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards, as well as relevant industry regulations.6. Business Development:- Collaborate with the marketing and business development teams to create and execute strategies to attract new clients and expand the departments client base.- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance the firms visibility and reputation.7. Budget and Financial Management:- Manage the departments budget, including expenses related to personnel, resources, and technology.- Monitor financial performance, track key performance indicators, and implement cost-effective measures.Qualifications:- Grade A or B Solicitor / Legal Executive- Proven experience in team leadership and management.- Good understanding of professional negligence law, regulations, and industry practices.- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.- Business acumen and a track record of successful business development.- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.If you are a dynamic leader with a passion for professional negligence law and a commitment to delivering outstanding legal services, we encourage you to apply.
