Job Description

Lecturer in JournalismFull time - 37 hours x 52 weeksSalary Information for Lecturing StaffUnqualified Range £20,000 - £23,775Qualified Range £25,200 - £31,886The Sheffield CollegeThis is an exciting time to join the Creative and Design Faculty at the Sheffield College. With an ambitious vision to be outstanding, now is a good time to be part of that journey.You will be an experienced lecturer, practitioner or recent graduate in Journalism, looking to transfer your knowledge through an innovative and flexible approach to teaching and learning providing an exceptional learning experience for the Sheffield Collegesstudents.You will need to have the knowledge, experience and ability to support and facilitate training and assessment of Journalism students on our Level 3 UAL, NCTJ Junior Journalist Apprenticeship and NCTJ Diploma programmes of study.Requirements for the posts include:

  • Educated to at least Level 5 in Journalism or related subject and/or have relevant industry experience.
  • NCTJ qualified and be able to deliver Public Affairs and Essential Journalism.
  • Experience working within the industry and of newswriting
  • A PGCE or other relevant teaching qualification and experience of assessment would be desirable.
