One of the UKs largest and foremost law firms is currently recruiting for an accomplished and highly experienced Lead Data Engineer, tasked with championing the data engineering domain, leading a skilled multi-discipline Data Engineering team, and ensuringthe appropriate operating model is adopted whilst helping shape and realise the overall data strategy across the business.Offering an attractive salary of up to £75,000 dependent on experience plus excellent benefits including pension scheme, health insurance, critical illness cover, childcare vouchers, and discounted gym membership, this is a fantastic opportunity to join oneof the most respected law firms in the UK.Please note: This is a permanent full-time role. You would work from home or the office, or a combination of the two, as part of the companys Flexible by Choice policy. Applications from across the UK will be considered, ideally with proximityto one of the companys Manchester, Sheffield or Leeds city centre offices.---The RoleYou will be responsible for inspiring best practice for data products and services, building up the data engineering capability by providing technical leadership and career development for the engineers, working with other senior colleagues to identify, plan,develop and deliver data services to the business. Youll implement the data strategy, and help define the governance model needed across the business to support data maturity. Given the nature of this role, youll also be responsible for managing the dataneeds of multiple teams, systems and products as well as provide technical and operational leadership to ensure data governance and data quality remain front of mind during the process.---The Candidate- A significant background working in Data Engineering, ideally in a leadership capacity- A strong understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, data aggregation and machine learning- Previous experience of leading data engineers through the data lifecycle- Technical tools expertise in Data Engineering and Data Governance, particularly Azure related (e.g. Azure Synapse Analytics, Apache Spark)- Fluent in programming languages such as SQL, and Python- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal to be able to communicate effectively at all levels- Strong influencing and collaboration skills, this will include the ability to influence senior stakeholders across the business and technology teams---The PackageSalary up to £75,000.
