Job Description

Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing is a specialist division of Elevation Recruitment Group, focusing on manufacturing positions in Yorkshire and the surrounding regions. We are working with the UKs leading manufacturer of its product.The role: Laser OperativeAre you a Laser Operative that has worked in the aerospace industry and looking for a new challengeA fantastic opportunity has become available for a Laser Operative to join a well-known Manufacturing business in Sheffield.Working Hours:2 shift patternSalary:£28,335.29 + 12.5% shift allowanceExcellent Benefit Package includes:

Key Responsibilities:
  • To set laser cutting fixtures to machine datum’s
  • To perform laser cutting operations of the components manufactured.
  • To check laser cut components to drawing specifications and ICY fixtures.
  • To understand machine parameters and check against data cards.
  • Maintain standard of all fixtures associated with Laser process.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, etc.
  • Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer as well as internal standards and specifications (NADCAP and AS9100 standards)
  • Keep equipment operational by completing autonomous maintenance and calibration requirements.
  • Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures.
  • Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned, requested, or needed.
Skills & Experience:
  • NVQ/qualification in Engineering discipline is desirable.
  • Proven history in a Laser operating position – minimum 3 years, preferably within Aerospace sector is essential
  • Trumpf machine experience is desirable
  • Basic understanding of lean principles (5S) is desirable.
  • Experience of working to production targets is essential.
