Job Description

Key Worker - Temporary roles across LiveWell Homeless ServicesLocations - Rotherham & Sheffield

  • Cuthbert Bank (Sheffield) - 12 month post with possible extension
  • Rotherham Interim - post until 30th June 2024 with possible extension
  • Rotherham Thursday Project - post until 31 March 2024

  • 28th November, 10am - SYHA Project Coordinator and Project Staff will be in attendance to answer any questions you might have and give you more information about the Key Worker role.
  • 1st December, 10 am - Get help from SYHA experts who can offer guidance when you complete your application form.
LiveWell Homeless ServicesSYHA deliver a range of homeless services which support a person at risk of homelessness, whether this be providing a home for life or a temporary, safe and secure space. We work in partnership with local councils, other housing associations and many keyorganisations in a persons support circle, including health teams and support workers. We work with our customers to help them develop the skills they need to live independently, look after their health and wellbeing, and to ultimately move, manage and settlein their own home.In SYHA our approach to working with customers is to build their confidence to a level where they feel they can live independently and achieve their potential. Our services offer a range of recovery and preventative focused support.More about the role:The role of a Key Worker is to:
  • Show enthusiasm for helping others, be approachable and encouraging with customers to support them in achieving their goals and aspirations.
  • Support our customers to gain the individual skills required to live more independent lives
  • Understand the importance of people being encouraged to identify their own strengths so they can positively develop strategies to enable them to better manage their housing and engage with support services.
Who you are:Our ideal candidate will be:Passionate about customer service and have a real commitment to supporting our customers to achieve their aspirations, goals and help them maximise their full potential.The successful candidate would need to be:
  • a great communicator with our customers and take a positive can-do approach.
  • be able to prioritise and organise your tasks and administration to meet deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Ideally you will have experience of supporting vulnerable people/people at risk of homelessness. Experience of supported housing or support services, as well as an understanding of the housing management aspect if applicable to the role you wish to applyfor.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of individual supports needs and how to positively manage risk, whilst supporting our customers on their journey to a permanent home.
  • Be a great communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Have good problem-solving skills
  • Capability to use a wide range of digital software
  • Great organisational and observational skills
Some of SYHA’s benefits:
  • Salary Scale: 3CDE £21,528 (pro-rata for part time) plus Essential car user allowance £94.36 per month and mileage expenses Pro Rata (ECU does not apply to Cuthbert Bank)
