Java Software Engineer, Sheffield. £40,000 - £45,000A emerging name on the Sheffield technology scene are looking to add a mid-level Java Software Engineer to their team. Due to the current circumstances the role will be initall be remote and the nbased intheir city centra sheffield office. They are a technology firm and your work will be a mixture of product development and project work, working heavily with Java, Spring Boot and deploying onto Cloud platforms, but occasionally working with off-the-shelf e-commerce suites, integration platforms and analytics platforms.They have successfully scaled new practices within the firm and their office move is designed to give them the space to scale the business further. This role will work across those practices, often working on E-commerce related projects but also developing data solutions, integrating new platforms together and migrating from legacy to new platforms.What they offer youOur client are an elite partner to several major vendors so have access to a lot of training courses and qualifications in areas like commerce platforms, analytics technology and DevOps, therefore if you are motivated to constantly be learning, then they have the means to make that happen for you. In addition, your work will be varied and challenging but unlike many technology firms, you are not expected to travel with the job.As far as a career path goes, there are several paths forward; you can go down a Technical Architecture pathway, but as the business scales, you can move into tech leadership and management.What do they need from meThey are looking for people with around 3-4 years of Java and Spring / Spring Boot experience, ideally working on user-centric web applications. You will also need to have some experience with containerisation using docker, or even better kubernetes. Ideally you might have some experience in an e-commerce domain but thats not essential.
