An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced and qualified individual to take on the challenging but rewarding role of IMT Manager in the Laboratory Medicine Directorate at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will lead a highly professional and enthusiastic IT team within one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the country and be responsible for IT service delivery and development, shaping the future direction of the service alongside the Directorate Management Team.Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is also part of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology network and it is envisaged that this post would transition, upon completion of consolidation, into the IMT Manager for the network.With around 17,000 employees, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s largest, busiest and most successful NHS Foundation Trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in Sheffield, as well as specialist care for patients from further afield. Sheffield is one of three major trauma centres for the Yorkshire and Humber region, and provides internationally recognised services including cancer treatments, spinal injuries, neurology and cardiology, and transplant surgery.The Directorate of Laboratory Medicine employs over 530 staff across its Departments of Cellular Pathology, Microbiology, Virology, Clinical Chemistry, Immunology, Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion. We have a number of highly specialised services including HODS and PRU, and are a regional and national referral centre for Coagulation and Immunology.The Laboratory Medicine IT Team is part of the Directorate Management Team for Laboratory Medicine and is responsible for providing support for the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
