Job Description

I am currently recruiting for a Porterto work at my client, a leading healthcare organisation based in Sheffield in the S10Postcode.Duties will include:

  • To transfer patients to and from departments as required by the appropriate method, including bed, chair, or trolley.
  • To transfer notes, clinical samples etc. as required.
  • To participate in moving and handling of patients, including using hoists and lateral transfers.
  • To transfer patients oxygen supply from fixed supply to portable cylinders in line with Trust policy
  • To change medical gas cylinders as required
  • To identify deteriorating patients and advise nursing/clinical staff as appropriate
  • To notify the Chargehand Porter or deputy on anything they consider to be of a poor standard.
  • Provide the appropriate care for patients, ensuring that their visit to the Department is both safe and as pleasant as possible.
  • To ensure that all appropriate documentation is complete and accurate and adheres to the General Data Protection Regulations. This includes computer data entry if appropriate.
  • To ensure that patient movement equipment is cleaned regularly and as and when required in line with infection control policy.
  • To act under instruction from clinical staff in the event of a cardiac arrest or other emergencies eg fire alarm.
  • Adhere to all Trust and Directorate policies and procedures, with particular reference to Health and Safety, infection control, Risk Management, Moving & Handling, and patient confidentiality.
  • To be successful in this role you must:
  • Have excellent communication skills, including customer facing experience
  • Be educated to GCSE or equivalent D grade or above in English and Maths
  • IT skills, using MS Word etc
  • This role is to start ASAPShifts available are:
  • Rota will be 37.5 hours between 8am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday
