We want our City to flourish, to grow our communities and have extensive plans to build new homes.We have an number of exciting opportunity to join Sheffield as an Heating, Mechanical and Electrical (HME) Team Manager in the Housing & Neighbourhood Service managing our 39,000 council homes and an ever growing private rented sector market.We are looking for someone with a proven track record in delivering mechanical and electrical projectsReporting to the Operations and Development Manager, as the successful candidate you will be responsible for: Accountability for successful performance on Mechanical & Electrical installations across council dwellings and commercial sites. Estimate, tender, manage & deliver Mechanical and Electrical Projects from inception to completion Procurement and Financial control of Projects Manage, guide and direct Mechanical and Electrical staff and contractors on projects Health & safety responsibility during project deliveryThe experience and qualifications we are looking for: An appropriate qualification, to HNC/HND level in a related subject or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of capability based on practical experience Relevant managerial experience of the building industry with particular relevance to the Heating Mechanical and Electrical Sector Be qualified in either ACS Accreditation CCN1,CEN1, HTR1,WAT1 and a sound understanding of solid fuel systems, LPG and Multi-fuel systems or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations qualification with a trade background / extensive knowledge of electrical installations A full understanding of the legislation relating to legionella and the appropriate action to be taken to ensure property is managed according to the regulations including Responsibilities under L8. Experience of delivering the required safety standards across all areas of work of responsibility and in particular the Health and Safety at Work Act in relation to Gas Safety and Electrical Safety An understanding of the legislation relating to asbestos containing material and the appropriate action to be taken to ensure the Health and Safety of customers and staff Extensive relevant managerial experience of the building industry with particular relevance to the Heating Mechanical and Electrical SectorAs the successful applicant, you will be: Highly motivated, have a good work ethic and be enthusiastic Approachable with good interpersonal skills and effective liaison with external bodies Accepts change and embraces new ideas Actively pursues personal developments Computer literate, and proficient in working with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Microsoft Project Presentation & written communication skills and ability to present well developed business cases to members, senior management, and customers.
