This is an exciting opportunity to join the team providing 3D Imaging Laboratory (3DLab) services to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STH).The 3DLab at STH is a leader in the field for the UK providing bespoke and routine advanced image processing and visualisation analysis for CT, MR, PET and SPECT imaging for a range of clinical and research applications including new applications in Machine Learning / AI. It also has an Additive Manufacturing service providing support for surgical treatment planning which works alongside academic and engineering partners.A successful candidate will provide scientific support as part of this team, working alongside Clinical Scientists and with the larger multidisciplinary team providing the services. In particular, the candidate will be expected to take a lead role in the development of a web browser based viewer for 3D anatomical modelsCandidates will have substantial experience of working with medical image derived anatomical models and will also have software development skills relevant to the web development project, in particular a good working knowledge of javascript.Sheffield offers all the benefits of a vibrant university city while its location on the edge of the Peak District means that there is easy access to countryside with renowned walking, cycling and climbing.This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of 4 months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder.
