Job Description

THE COMPANY:The Charity Partners, a division of Brewster Partners are working in partnership with a Sheffield based charity who are looking to appoint a Head of Finance and Resources.THE JOB:This is a senior position reporting into the CEO and responsible for the finance team. The role is part time (22.5- 30 hours a week) operating on a hybrid basis with a requirement of 2 days on site.Salary is £47k - £53k pro rata.Responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership across the charities financial matters, including financial forecasts, budgetary planning and management, financial strategy, policy development and investments.
  • processing and reporting and full compliance with all covenants, laws and regulations, including Charity Commission regulations and Charities SORP.
  • Lead the finance and resources team promoting inclusivity, a positive culture and the charities values.
  • Develop and support in the delivery of the organisations strategic plan
  • Ensure preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial data including strategic plans, budgets, management accounts, live forecasts, and financial data requested by funders updated monthly or as required.

  • Oversee all grant-giving activities including new applications, management of existing investments, ensuring all decisions are taken with relevant governance oversight and in accordance with agreed procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with charity commission, companies house, HMRC, ICO and any other relevant bodies.
THE PERSON:This position will suit a finance profession who has worked in a senior capacity and has effectively managed a team.In order to succeed you will have the following skills
  • Senior leadership experience
  • Professional qualification in accountancy (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
  • Previous experience developing and delivering a comprehensive financial strategy plan.
  • Ability to lead and manage the performance of a team to fulfil organisational aims and objectives.
  • Analytical and problem solving, strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise demanding workloads.
  • Exceptional Analytical and financial astuteness, able to maintain financial controls.
  • Understanding of Finance IT systems, Microsoft Packages and Technology
  • Knowledgeable of the principles of fundraising, grant giving and reporting
  • against restricted income, gift aid and other matters specific to charity finance
  • Knowledge of business and strategic planning tools and processes
  • Knowledge of GDPR, consent and data management
