The services offered through Tes.com play a critical role in helping teachers and school leaders deal with the challenges of providing high quality education to millions of children across the globe.Role overview:Tes Institute is a market leading provider in the provision of teacher training courses to individuals in the UK and internationally. These courses offer flexible routes into teaching and are delivered through a combination of proprietary online materials and directly through a network of third party tutors. Learners have access to a number of funding options which TI facilitates and there are opportunities to expand into privately-funded training. Tes sees opportunity for growth both in the UK and specifically internationally.The role is a new role in the business managing existing, dedicated TI finance team members. The dedicated TI finance resource is in those areas where processes, customers and financial outcomes are distinct from the rest of the Tes Group. Shared processes such as payroll, general purchase to pay will be delivered by the Tes Group finance team allowing this role to focus on the additive tasks delivering value to TI. The TI team are passionate about education, the right candidate will share this enthusiasm and strive towards having a significant positive impact on Institutes performance.Key role responsibilities:Provide overall leadership to a dedicated finance team of 4;Provide financial and commercial support to the Institute management team and, to the Institute leaderOverall responsibility for the P&L and Balance sheet of Tes Institute, ensuring reporting in line with Group deadlines; - Provide monthly financial and sales reporting to Institute management and Group finance, in line with Group reporting requirementsAssist the Group Commercial Finance Manager with the preparation of annual budget and rolling quarterly forecasts for Tes Institute and monitoring performance against this;Support to Group Finance to aid Group cash forecasting, taxation compliance and assist with Institute related external audit requirementsManagement of, accounting for and reconciliation of DfE Bursary funding; o Pathway Tutor P2P process;Learner cash collection and management working;Provision of annual information to the DfE in line with specified deadlines;Overseeing the external audit and compliance of DfE funding;Improvement in financial control environment, with focus on revenue, funding and delivery costs.Education and experience requirements:
