Job Description

Reed in Partnership are recruiting a new Head of Employment & Skills Training to join our expanding team.We are on a mission to be the partner of choice for developing people and their communities. Reed in Partnership is a public service provider specialising in skills training for the long-term unemployed, increasing employment opportunities by working with employers and providing youth services.What is the Job aboutThe Head of Employment & Skills Training is directly responsible for the effective performance and quality of service of the Employment & Skills Training Team, ensuring delivery meets or exceeds internal and contractual minimum standards. The team will be delivering training services remotely via telephone or video call, so your operational teams will provide comprehensive skills training to newly unemployed (3 months +) participants, helping them to become job ready. Your team(s) will be based from a mix of large service centres and smaller delivery sites based in the UK.You will also be responsible for managing external relationships with providers to ensure that the full range of Employment & Skills Training is available. They will also be responsible for ensuring your team’s adhere to the programme’s requirements and Reed in Partnership’s policies and procedures.Key Responsibilities:• People Motivation, Coaching and Development• Performance management and delivery• Relationships and stakeholder management• Finance and facilities• Quality and continuous improvement• SafeguardingWhats in it for youAlongside a generous base salary of between £40,000 - £45,000 and great flexibility with your working schedule, we offer training, development and progression opportunities. Unfortunately we don’t have any dedicated parking, but we are very close to the train station and public transport links.Required skills & experience:Screening Criteria:• Extensive experience of team management across multiple sites and/or multiple contracts in a customer facing business.• Experience and understanding of the design and implementation of complex operational processes across multiple teams.• A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma.• GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification).Essential Criteria:• Satisfactory demonstration of the Head of Employment & Skills Training’s attributes, specifically people focus, persuading and influencing, organised and resourceful, success orientation, personal resilience, considered judgement & decision making, commercial acumen, flexibility and creativity, honest & integrity.• Understanding of Publically funded contracts & OFSTED standards (where applicable)• Technical skills include strong administration skills, good computer/technology skills, basic numeracy/spreadsheet skills and good written communication/record keeping skills.• Personal interests include interest in people and willingness to learn.• Personal circumstances include willingness to travel.Desirable Criteria:• Experience of working on programmes targeting relevant disadvantaged groups in society.• Significant experience within the Welfare to Work or Recruitment sector.• Experience of managing teams delivering Skills training.• Experience of delivering foundation/ vocational learning programs.• Fluency in community languages. Community languages may include Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Vietnamese, Dari, Yoruba, Turkish, French, Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Gujerati, Polish, Serbian and Greek.
