Job Description

The Head of IT and Security, reporting to the Director, will be accountable for all aspects of security on the contract, comprising physical & information security.Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for meeting governance requirements including attending Audit Assurance Board and internal Security Governance meetings.
  • Overall responsibility for the Security and Incident Management (SIM) Team, including direct line management of the deputy head of IT and Security.
  • Responsibility for review and continuous improvement of physical and information security processes across the contract and ensuring continued adherence to ISO27001 principles.
  • Review and continuous improvement of incident management procedures across the contract to drive service performance and quality.
  • Implementing and maintaining the information security strategy and programme to ensure critical information assets are identified and adequately protected.
  • Identifying Security and Data Protection related risks and provide proportionate mitigation options and advice to business risk owners for decision making.
  • Overseeing security penetration testing, security training and maintaining group templates for legal agreements.
  • Responsibility of contract-wide compliance to fraud prevention and detection measures.
  • Ensure all processes and systems are in line with industry best practice and reflect new/emerging research and data.
  • Coordination of physical security (security services, access control and CCTV systems, site surveys), investigations, and risk/threat assessments.
  • Management of key suppliers providing IT Managed Service and CCTV
  • Driving continued performance against security metrics and KPIs, across the contract.
  • Lead on our employee security strategy including Anti-Collusion policy.
  • Perform data analysis and create benchmarking to support risk assessments and threat identification.
    • Key Requirements:
  • At least 10 years’ experience of security operations.
  • Up to date knowledge of security legislation, policy and best practice, including ISO27001.
  • Extensive experience of corporate and infrastructure security.
  • Experience in designing and implementing investigative tactics including interviewing and documentation.
  • Significant experience in conducting risk assessments, risk management, planning and auditing.
  • In depth knowledge of access control systems, site security systems and CCTV
  • High ethical standards with proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information, excellent judgment, discretion and diplomacy.
    • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant security qualification (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Membership of a professional body
  • Experience with industry frameworks in Information & Cyber Security
  • A relevant industry certification e.g. CISSP, CISA, CRISC, SANS GIAC, CIPP/E, CIPM
