Job Description

Job Role: Grinder Machine OperatorLocation: Sheffield (S4)Shift: 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 1:30pm Friday (Could be required to work occasional shifts)Tenure: Full time, PermeantSalary: £10.94 on days, 12.94 on nightsMetalis is working in partnership with a specialist manufacturing company involved in design and manufacture of different machine knives, hand knives and many more.We are actively recruiting for a Grinding Machine Operator to join an expanding team in Sheffield.Duties of the Grinding Machine Operator:

  • Produce accurate parts consistently and be able to set up, operate, and maintain manual grinding machines to manufacture components to specification and tolerance.
  • To maintain and improve productivity, work in line with company procedures and machine capability to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Ability to operate more than one machine as and when required.
  • Use the correct measuring equipment to check dimensions and adjust machine and operations to eliminate production of defective parts
  • Use the correct tooling, jigs, or fixture for the job in hand
  • Work safely following company procedures and health and safety rules while ensuring the work area is kept clean and tidy.
Experience of the Grinding Machine Operator:
  • Grinding Experience, blade or tool industry preferred
  • Experience in basic machine maintenance
  • Good knowledge of engineering drawings
  • Ability to produce consistently accurate parts to drawing tolerances
  • To be motivated and have a "can-do" attitude
