Job Description

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for either a German or French speaking Export Sales Manager to join a world leading steel and alloys company. You will have the responsibility to develop sales into their major export markets for Europe (oil,& gas, aerospace, marine, railways and environmental structure ) directly with your clients and also manage a team of regionally appointed sales agents. Office based.COMPANY BACKGROUNDOur client is a successful, international manufacturer and supplier of a range of alloys that are used extensively throughout the world in a range of industries (marine, oil & gas, aerospace etc). JOB RESPONSIBILITIESIn order to manage and develop export sales across Europe, they wish to recruit either a French or German speaking Export Sales Manager. Your role will be to manage a portfolio of clients, travel when necessary and work with a team of regional sales with agents.Your typical job responsibilities will include:

  • Meet and exceed budgeted sales and margin targets whilst retaining focus for inventory and agreed stock turn
  • Management of personal customer accounts and increasing sales through organic growth and identifying new development opportunities
  • Visiting customers and working closely with agents - setting and monitoring sales targets for existing and new agents
  • Be responsible for a set of key accounts and a team of internal salespeople
  • Data collection, review, and monitoring to aid decision making on topics such as pricing, stock replenishment and allocation of resources.
  • Manage personal and team customer opportunities via the CRM system ensuring
  • Provide the team with competitor information, customer feedback, coaching and guidance.
  • Be responsible for reviewing customer specifications, calculating basic costings, and creating quotations and proposals.
  • A good understanding of the ERP and CRM system is necessary to support the team and to enable the person to be an active member of continuous improvement groups.Retain and grow a portfolio of clients
  • Be the primary customer contact for technical and business enquiries
  • Meeting clients regularly on an agreed schedule
  • Feed back to the management of requirements for product development and marketing
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
  • Fluency in either French or German, as well as English
  • Sales in the metals sector - experience in Oil & Gas market or aerospace or similar is essential.
  • Experience of nickel alloys, titanium and special stainless steels is desirable.
  • Have an ability to drive to close a sale with the best terms for the company
  • Positive, can-do attitude, with a strong desire to coach and mentor.
  • Be able to influence and negotiate with people at all levels within the organisation and external partners
