Financial ControllerSalary: £90,000Benefits: Car/Car allowance, private health, pension, 27 days holiday + statsLocation: SheffieldOur client operates in the manufacturing sector and have operations in the UK and overseas. This role represents a rare and perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity to build and manage a new finance team as an independent business area. Reporting to the CFO youwill lead the financial control of the business including statutory reporting to group. You will undertake the treasury & statutory compliance activities and will act as Company Secretary for the UKTHE ROLE: Reporting and financial managementPreparation of monthly accounts Advising units on IFRS matters and practical guidance on new standards to the sitesInvolvement in project & capital expenditure appraisalsManagement of Company insurance policies, renewals, claims & liaison with insurance brokers Continuous review of procedures and implementation of improvementsTreasurySupervising the exit from group functions and developing a treasury functionControlling and developing the liquidity planning for the business and monitor/improve performanceMonitoring and control of derivative management (FX & metal exposure) in line with company policiesManagement of cash pooling Involvement in banking relationships with all banks & provision of information as requiredExecuting as required financing arrangements such as factoring and supplier financingSystemsInvolvement in the operation of accounting systems to identify opportunities for improvement particularly consolidation tools and feeder systemsReview and update of existing systems and documentationDevelop and monitor control systems to ensure compliance with legislation and company policiesGeneralContinuous review to identify and implement improvements in the Finance function To carry out any other tasks requested by the CFO or group financeTo provide support to the finance department Be a lead to audit of the business area and contact point for local authoritiesTHE CANDIDATE:Qualified Accountant with at least 10 years PQEExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProcedures and systems are fully understood, adhered to and questioned to ensure processes remain continuously as efficient and effective as possibleAdhere at all times to the expected professional standards of competenceSystems and records are up to date and accurateDeadlines and targets are always achievedTo take full responsibility of individual and team workload and be able to prioritise tasks; prioritisation clarification sought from management when conflicts ariseBe honest when struggling and demonstrate resilience Flexibility and willingness to work on a variety of work assignedNo inappropriate use of company systems and facilitiesResponsibility to advise CFO on a timely basis of any issues which requires supportDrive to progress projects independently with a strong desire to learn and troubleshoot own issues Experience working in, or auditing a manufacturing environment Up to date IFRS accounting knowledgeTHE BENEFITS:Car/Car allowance, private health, pension, 27 days holiday + statsTHE CONSULTANCY:Edwards & Pearce acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
