Location: SheffieldContract: Full TimeHours: 37.5 hours per weekSalary: Up to £40,000 max depending on experienceBenefits package: 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, performance related bonus, cycle to work scheme, buy and sell holiday scheme, flexible working, health cash plan, life assurance and lifestyle benefits.THE ROLEYou will ensure that the Bank’s investment assets, liabilities, incomes and expenditures (and those managed on behalf of BEIS), are properly recorded and accounted for in the financial ledgers, and to provide support for the FC&G team in external financial reporting including the production of the annual accounts.You will provide support to the Financial Control & Governance - Senior Manager in the preparation of statutory accounts and interim accounts for BBB Group and all subsidiary companies as required.Maintenance of the investment loan records, ensuring that they are up to date and regularly reconciled to the financial ledgers and the undertaking of IFRS 9 classification assessments for all financial assets and liabilities for reporting and disclosure purposes, supported by documented evidence, will be key responsibilities of yours. In addition, you will provide support to the Financial Control & Governance - Senior Manager in ensuring that the Group’s accounting policies are fully documented and updated for any new policies or changes to existing policies.You will also prepare accounting journals for BEIS together with supporting evidence in relation to the financial assets and liabilities managed by the Bank on its behalf and provide monthly investment transactional data to the BI team for incorporation into the Board Report. You will also upload statutory financial reporting data into the BEIS EPM system.You will be responsible for the liaison and interaction with the Group’ tax advisors for the preparation of annual accounts estimates and CT computations for submission to HMRC.You will contribute towards the identification and delivery of change to strengthen controls and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.You will have a significant technical accounting background preferably gained in a banking environment, with a current understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.You will have experience in the production of complex consolidated financial statements and have a good understanding of UK corporation tax.View the full job description on our careers page.ABOUT US The British Business Bank is a unique and exciting institution.
