Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant for a vital role within the public sector. In this role, you will provide expert accounting and financial management services to ensure the organisations financial sustainability.Client DetailsOur client is a significant entity within the public sector, providing essential services to the South Yorkshire region. With a large workforce, they are committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial management and corporate governance.Description

  • Manage and review the preparation of financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on financial matters.
  • Oversee the budgeting process and monitor expenditure.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Develop and improve financial management systems and procedures.
  • Lead and manage a team within the Accounting & Finance Department.
ProfileA successful Financial Accountant should have:
  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of public sector accounting standards and regulations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Offer
